Hebrews 10:24, 25 A little experience – the Lord as my first love These last couple of months, we have been going over Revelation chapters 2 & 3, the letters to the seven churches. I have been very touched by the Lord's speaking. We've seen that not only does the Lord speak to the churches, He is also speaking to each of us! One thing that particularly spoke to me was the matter of His warning, "But I have one thing against you, that you have left your first love" (Rev. 2:4). This word really spoke to me, and I have been exercising (spiritually!) to come to Him, my first love, when I wake up - to love Him, appreciate Him, to open my heart to Him and to what is upon His heart, and to give my heart to Him. So, this morning, as I was getting ready to start my day, before anyone else was up, I was spending some time with the Lord and praying as He would lead me. Suddenly the Lord invaded my thoughts with His speaking – "you have left your first love!" Without even being aware of it, my thoughts had drifted far away to me and the things surrounding my day! I am thankful the Lord came to me and that I was able to confess, and return to Him! Afterwards, I realized that all those things that had seemed so crucial to think about when I was spending my time with the Lord, weren't really crucial at all - they didn't even cross my mind! The enemy hates those little interactions we have with the Lord and will do everything he can to prevent us from having them! Lord, may we have many such interactions with You all through the day!
