"And let us consider one another so as to incite one another to love and good works, not abandoning our own assembling together, as the custom with some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more as you see the day drawing near." Hebrews 10:24, 25

On Saturday mornings, some of us have been gathering together to slowly read through the Bible with the footnotes.  The time has been so enjoyable and it seems that every week a small nugget is opened up to us.  This past week we were reading Joshua 11 where the record of the obtaining of and fighting for  the Good Land is recorded.   Seven kings conspired together to go against Israel.  So many of them, like the sand of the sea, with lots of horses and chariots.  And fighting against who, those who have just been wandering in the wilderness for 40 years!  Not a real settled nation, with an established, trained army, just ones wandering, eating manna.  But the Lord promised to give them the victory and He did!  Through this battle, Israel obtained the Good Land for them to inhabit  This is quite a picture. How encouraging!  At times challenges or battles are presented to us that in the natural realm are impossible, but with God all things are possible. The Gates of Hades cannot prevail against the builded church!  Thank you Lord, our confidence is in You, not our ability, training, might or power. We rest in You.
