New Songs
"Hallelujah! Sing a new song to Jehovah; Sing His praise in the congregation of His faithful ones."
Psalms 149:1
Sing to tune of Hymn #431
Grant us pure hearts and sober minds to hear
Your Spirit speak - we'd have a Godly fear.
You're speaking to the churches and to me
Humbled in heart, repentant we would be.
I'd wake each morning, for You my heart burned;
When it was night, I'd watch for Your return.
Your calling, "From your first love you have strayed.
Dear fallen one, come back to Me today."
The enemy brings persecution, strife,
The world surrounds me, I give You my life
But as You speak, I come to realize,
It's the big "self" in me that needs to die.
"Your heart's become enamored by world's charms,
Intended that your love for Me be harmed,
To such extent, that you'd be swept away!
My warning is, do not be led astray!"
Your feet of judgment walk within my heart,
With flaming eyes, enlighten ev'ry part -
Not to condemn, but cause me to repent -
How I've fallen, how far from You I went!
The ugliness within my heart You show,
In my despair, I call, "Lord! Help me grow!"
"Be watchful, buy the Spirit's oil today,
Until My life, and not yours, be displayed."
You have accomplished something glorious -
I love the brothers, each one so precious!
Little by little, be etched in our hearts,
'Til we'd become Your Bride, Your counterpart.
You're the true One who is reality,
Sep'rate, unique from all our vanities.
From all self interests, Lord set us apart,
You'd know us as those after Your own heart.
Thinking we're rich, we don't so much abide.
With knowledge filled, we're puffed up by our pride.
Don't see we're wretched, naked, poor and blind,
As You beseech us, this is what we find.
"I counsel you to buy My gold refined.
And garments white, be clothed with life divine.
I'm standing at the church door - hear me knock?
I'll come and dine, if you the door unlock.
You're speaking to the churches, to us all,
May we each hear Your word and heed Your call.
Your coming back, Lord, may we not forestall.
We pray, O Lord, have mercy on us all!
